What's in the box? Parts List and SKUs for Every Forward Education Kit
Use this page to check exactly what should be in a kit — handy when you're unboxing, doing an end-of-term inventory, or working out what needs replacing.
Each product below has its own bill of materials (BoM): the list of every part in the box and how many of each you should find. Quantities are per single kit, so multiply by the pack size if you bought a class pack.
A quick note on terms: the Breakout Board is the small circuit board that your micro:bit slots into. It carries the battery and the ports that all the sensors, motors and pumps plug into.
Most Forward Education kits require a micro:bit V2, and unless the variant name says "with micro:bit," one is not included.
Class packs contain multiples of the single kit and nothing else. A class pack of 15 is 15 complete single kits — there are no extra parts, guides or storage items inside, so the parts lists below apply to every kit in the pack. Bundles are different: they deliberately add other products (micro:bits, CHARGE battery packs, a charging station) and are listed separately at the end.

Smart Hydroponics Kit
SKU: FE-01-0501
This is a different product from the older Smart Farming Kit listed above. The product page lists the Main Hydroponics Unit (7 L tank, cover, support posts and plant support rods) plus the sensors, grow light and robotic components needed to automate water levels, light cycles and pH testing — the kit uses the peristaltic pump and a float sensor, and needs a micro:bit V2.
Nutrients and pH up/down buffer are consumables and are not part of the kit — they're bought separately.

Class packs and sample kits
A class pack contains multiples of the individual kit and nothing more — for example, the Wind Turbine Kit Class Pack (FE-01-0114) is 15 Wind Turbine Kits, and the Climate Action Kit Class Pack (15) (FE-01-0110) is 15 Climate Action Kits. There is no extra storage, guide or spare-parts item inside.
