Creating your account and logging in

MicroChat accounts are for teachers and school staff. Students don't log in — they join a session with a code instead (see Joining a session as a student).

Logging in with your email

  1. Go to the MicroChat login page.
  2. Type your school email address and click Login with Email.
  3. Check your inbox for a message from MicroChat. It contains a 6-digit passcode.
  4. Type the passcode into the box and click Submit Code.

If this is your first time, the email will contain a sign-up link instead, so you can finish creating your account.

Each passcode works once and only for a short time. If it stops working, just request a new one.

Logging in with Google or Microsoft

If your school uses Google or Microsoft accounts, click the Google or Microsoft button and sign in the way you normally do. No passcode needed.

Didn't get the email?

  • Check your spam or junk folder.
  • Make sure you typed your email correctly.
  • Wait a minute, then request another passcode. Only the newest passcode works.
  • Some school email systems block outside messages. Ask your IT team to allow email from MicroChat.

Staying logged in

MicroChat keeps you logged in on the same browser. To log out, click Logout at the bottom of the left-hand menu.

Changing the language

The language selector in the top-right corner switches MicroChat between English, Portuguese, Spanish, German, and French. See Changing the language.
