The simulators are not working in MakeCode.

Simulators are virtual representations of your physical robotic components in MakeCode.

1. Make sure you have the Forward EDU Extension installed

  • Go to Extensions, search "Forward EDU" in the search bar

  • Add the extension for your specific product or choose 'fwd-all-blocks' to add all available coding blocks to MakeCode

2. Pair & download a blank project

  • If it's your first time connect your micro:bit to a Forward Education project in MakeCode, you need to download a blank project to establish 'communication' with the simulators and your physical hardware.

  • Pair your micro:bit and click the 'Download' button to download a blank project

3. Make sure your Breakout Board is turned on

  • The Breakout Board needs to be turned on, with your micro:bit inserted and connected to the computer for the simulators to work

4. Make sure you only have one MakeCode window open

  • Your simulators will not work if there is more than one MakeCode window open on your computer

  • Close any additional MakeCode tabs and reload the page.
