MicroChat writes code on demand, but you don't have to start from a blank page. Forward Education runs a free learning platform at learn.forwardedu.com full of ready-to-teach lessons — and MicroChat knows about it.

What's there

Lessons – complete, curriculum-aligned coding, robotics, and AI lessons, organised by grade band (Grades 3–5, 6–8, 9–10, 11–12) and by theme (oceans, climate, energy, and more). Some are single 45–90 minute lessons; others are multi-session units. A few examples:

Getting there from MicroChat

• Click Resources in the left-hand menu (opens in a new tab).
• Click the ? button in the top-right corner of any page for the educator resources.
• Or just ask the Dashboard chat: "Is there a lesson about water quality for grade 6?" It knows the library and will point you to it.

Using the platform and MicroChat together

They fit like this:

• Start with a platform lesson when you want something ready to go, tested, and aligned to curriculum.
• Use MicroChat's Code when students want to change or extend what the lesson built — "Add a second sensor," "Make it log data every minute."
• Use the Tutorial Builder when the library doesn't have exactly what you need and you want a step-by-step version of your own idea.
• Use the video tutorials when a component isn't behaving and you want to check the wiring.

Tip

Many platform lessons use the Climate Action Kit or Coding for Good Kit. When you bring one into MicroChat, tick the Forward Education extension box before asking for changes so MicroChat can use the kit blocks.
