Let's take a look and see what it means when you are getting an error code on your micro:bit
Overview
Occasionally, when the micro:bit has encountered an issue it will display a 3-digit code followed by a frowny face :(
This is an error code and is your micro:bit's way of telling you something is wrong. Thankfully, this is a great thing as these error codes often allow you to diagnose potential problems quickly and efficiently.
If you ever encounter one of these codes go to the following micro:bit Help & Support article to find the code that is being displayed. There you will find out what that code means and the reason you are getting it:

What next?
Ok, I found out what error code I have but what do I do next??
Excellent Question! Unfortunately, the answer depends on what error code you are getting as the reasons for getting one can vary quite a bit. It could be anything such as connectivity to the computer, damage to the micro:bit, or even issues with the code you are trying to run.
Here are some common troubleshooting steps that may be required if a code is encountered:
- Try restarting your micro:bit
- Inspect your micro:bit for any visible signs of damage
- Verify you are using a v2 micro:bit with the Climate Action Kit
- Ensure all cables and connections are secure
- Review your code for errors, particularly if the issue relates to specific functions
- Try a different micro:bit to see if the issue persists
- Try swapping the Climate Action Kit Breakout Board
When to Contact Support:
- If troubleshooting doesn't resolve the issue, or if you suspect the problem is with the Climate Action Kit, please Submit a Help Ticket to Forward Education.
- For issues specific to the micro:bit itself, such as hardware or software troubles not related to the Climate Action Kit, reach out to micro:bit Help & Support.
